Drunken Audible

Los Angeles Sports Musings for the Sneaker Inclined. // The Drunken Audible is an RSS feed from CLH and Sharky H. Towers with an emphasis on the Lakers, the National League West, the various Fútbol leagues of the world and how much money we're losing during the NFL season. And shoes.

Lakers Final Season Record? 56-26.

That assumes they go 3-2 in their final 5 games with wins against everyone but San Antonio and the Hornets.  A safe bet.  It’s pretty tough for any team to try to manipulate their schedule for a certain matchup since everything is so close that the seeding is gonna be impossible to predict.  The one constant is that the #1 seed is a damn good place to be.  Whoever gets that seed will play Golden State, Denver or Dallas.  The Lakers matchup great with all of those teams.  They can put up plenty of points against those three.  Every one of those teams relies heavily on their offense to simply outscore their opponent (a method of victory that generally falls flat come playoff time).  Lamar Odom is one of the best players to defend Dirk Nowitski in all of the NBA and the general height and half-court capability of the Lakers (with Gasol) will destroy the Warriors.  The Nuggets can’t or don’t and definitely haven’t played defense all year and there is nothing to indicate that will change come playoff time.  The Nuggets can’t scare anybody at all as I’ve said in this space for weeks.
